'default' – new from thom yorke's atoms for peace

The long-awaited collaboration between Thom Yorke, Nigel Godrich and Flea, Atoms For Peace, finally has an official release (this remix single notwithstanding). Single “Default” was issued on iTunes today with a vinyl release due next week.

As for what it sounds like, it splits the difference between Radiohead and The Eraser, with plenty of moody electronics but more tunefulness than Yorke’s solo work. Not sure what exactly Flea is doing, but it’s pretty cool:

No official word yet on a full length album, but there are rumors of a release before the end of the year.
