We’ve been suitably impressed with the studious synthpop of Nashville’s Future Unlimited. The duo’s debut EP earlier this year demonstrated a deep appreciation for the origins of electronic music with a definitively modern sensibility.
For their latest release, Future Unlimited have name checked an obscure influence, covering “Sleep No More” from Sheffield new wave act The Comsat Angels. An ‘almost were’ from the English post-punk scene of the early 80’s, The Comsat Angels peaked early with ’81 sophomore album Sleep No More. Here’s Future Unlimited’s respectfully updated take on the title track:
