It’s like being in a strange alternate reality when Wild Nothing is trending on twitter. Jack Tatum describes his bedroom pop project from Blacksburg, Virginia as “my sense of what pop music used to be or even what pop music would be in my ideal world.” Wherever this ideal world is, I want to go to there.
Wild Nothing is newsworthy today for signing with Bella Union for UK distribution and announcing sophomore album Nocturne, out August 28th in the US on Captured Tracks. As you can tell from single “Shadow,” Tatum’s pop vision benefitted from the jump from bedroom to studio, with lush strings and delicate production:
“Shadow” will be released August 7th as a limited edition 7″ with b-side “Feel You Now.”
