You reach the mouth of the cave. The air smells of sulphur and bones litter the ground — this is certainly the dragon’s lair. If you decide to enter the cave, turn to page 58. To climb over the rocks and look for another passage, turn to page 72.

So many hours spent trying to beat those old Choose Your Own Adventure books at their own game. “Surely they think I want to avoid the dragon — which means I should enter the cave.”

Brooklyn band Chairlift have applied that storytelling gimmick and some “sliding doors” science to their latest video for “Met Before” from the outstanding album Something. Throughout the video, you are prompted to click the right or left arrow to determine what path Caroline Polachek takes. I’m no math major, but it seems there are dozens of variations this video could take:
