One of my favorite albums of 2010 was Gemini, the debut from Wild Nothing. What began in the bedroom of Jack Tatum at Virginia Tech has become a full-fledged band recording in a real studio, as Tatum works on a follow-up due later this year on Captured Tracks.
February 21st, Wild Nothing will release a 7″ featuring the tracks “Nowhere” and “Wait” — the first new stuff since Gemini came out. You can download the former below, which has guest vocals from Twin Sister’s Andrea Estrella and some prominent harmonica. Think more Johnny Marr than John Popper:
Not quite as hazy/C-86, but still good to hear they’re back to work.
