'painted indian' — new single from minks

NYC’s Minks have been relatively quiet since last year’s release of By The Hedge on Captured Tracks. However, this week the band — or perhaps rather frontman Sean Kilfoyle — posted a new song entitled “Painted Indian.”

It’s still in the vein of lo-fi Cure-inspired pop, but with more emphasis placed on the lyrics:

“And I hear you’ve got your sunglasses on

and you hate everyone

now you’re talking about

some book I probably lent you.”

It’s barely fleshed out at a mere two and a half minutes, but it’s a catchy tune nonetheless:

“From black to white to red to white and back to red”…  that’s going to be stuck in my head for weeks.
