Another new one to watch are Trophy Wife, from Oxford. More or less “discovered” by Yannis Philippakis of UK math rockers Foals, they were quickly signed to Moshi Moshi — home to the likes of Hot Chip, Bloc Party, Friendly Fires and The Drums.
So far, Trophy Wife only have a couple of singles to their credit, but they offer a tantalizing view of the trio’s potential.
“The Quiet Earth” clues you in on their m.o. right away. Think Foals with a disco beat — and one of those groovy, dancing sign language chicks:
