Some of these remixes have been floating around for a while, but today Blonde Redhead released a lovely package of six reworked tracks from Penny Sparkle as a free tour EP.

Last year’s album took Blonde Redhead away from the My Bloody Valentine shoegaze territory of 23 and pushed toward a more moody, electronic sound. The remixes serve to take things even further.

For instance, here’s the Games — or Ford & Lopatin as they’re now known — version of “My Plants Are Dead”:

And Salem, who recently did a brilliant “remix” of Britney Spears, gave their controversial witch house treatment to the album’s title track:
